iCOON Hoek van Holland (Rotterdam) is a modest-sized but precious dune estate of which the outside partially is still under construction. It is in the Voorduin beautifully situated inbetween the Nieuwe Waterweg and the North Sea. Massimo Pavan © Joyce Huis

Outside is BUITENPLAATS featuring art by Bart Eysink Smeets and Sil Krol. Recently the watchtower UITzWAAI (Joram Raaijmakers) was installed and an above-ground corridor system the DUINKAMER (Krijn de Koning) is being prepared. Both were designed with respect for the context: the local history (monumental bunker which was part of Atlantikwall) and the dune landscape.

Inside the former ammunition bunker there is an exhibition space for minimalist art & design. Rotterdam based, Dutch and European creators are invited to present here. In April 2025, iCOON opened its 4th season with a focus on Rotterdam (Massimo Pavan, Studio Noralie, Cindy Bakker). The initiator and curator Helma Vlemmings wants to give artists and designers more space and freedom for which she conceived the platform ROOM FOR YOU. With these exhibitions, a fringe program, the estate and the terrace, iCOON aims to become a hotspot, for maritime, nature, military heritage and art & design lovers.
