Foscarini launches a lamp made of raw aluminum

Design duo Lucidi Pevere, the outer layer of Arumi is made of raw aluminum in creating a rugged texture. A discreet inner shade is constructed using a contrasting shiny and smooth metal to reflect warm rays from the LED light source. A sleek metal ring at the rim adds even more texture and complexity to the lamp. The over-all experimentation with materials makes Arumi’s dome shape resemble that of a raw diamond when lit up.

Foscarini’s Birdie lamp collection is inspired by the natural and delicate silhouette of a young sapling balanced on a thin tree branch. To celebrate Birdie and summertime in Milan, lamp designers Roberto and Ludovica Palomba created The Birdie Garden – a new installation transforming Foscarini’s Brera showroom into a whimsical experience. Foscarini Illuminates The Armory Show

Last week, Foscarini collaborated with Hotel Americano to furnish two pop-up lounges at the Armory Show. Inspired by Enrique Norten’s Hotel Amerciano in nearby Chelsea, the VIP lounges featured some of Foscarini’s most iconic and artistic lamps over vibrant blue and yellow backdrops, as oppose to white walls commonly seen in galleries. As the lines blur between art and design, Foscarini’s sponsorship found a synergy with the show’s scope and audience.
