Tulip by Pierre Cabrera

Like a graceful and timeless flower of light, this tulip-shaped lamp enhances emotion, technology and high-end materials. For Pierre Cabrera, HI-MACS® proved to be the ideal material to create "Tulip". The flower inspired the designer to create a warm and intimate atmosphere through soft and indirect lighting. The ellipsoidal HI-MACS® thermoformed ribbon intertwines to produce smooth, flowing and sensual shapes.

Tzero Table

Franco Eccel presents "Tzero Table" a range of tables, kitchen work surfaces and items for the bathroom made from HI-MACS®. Their most notable feature is their green credentials. Created from offcuts and surplus materials taken from major architectural projects they are given a second life in the form of individual pieces. Of special note is the "fragmented" pattern as well as the adhesives in contrasting colours, which highlight the fractures between the individual elements and their joints.

Primitive Kitchen Tool

Swedish designer Erik Bele Höglund’s Primitive Kitchen Tool for modern cavemen: The tool is constructed from HI-MACS®, a new-generation acrylic stone that is ultra-resistant and completely hygienic. Its pore-free surface prevents any build-up of waste or bacteria. It is made up of two pieces: a platter, with various hollows in which foods may be placed and prepared, and a “stone”, which has two functions: the sharp end, to slice and cut, or the blunt end of the handle, to crush and grind.

Recharged by Basten Leijh

“Recharged” is a novel kind of seating : People can sit and recharge their smartphones wireless. The colourful cushion is ideal for sitting and relaxing, while the round HI-MACS® platform at the centre offers the opportunity to recharge the batteries of mobile devices, within areas marked by circles. In cooperation with the furniture producer Royal Ahrend, and technology supplier ZENS, Dutch designer Basten Leijh has created design furniture that unites comfort and state-of-the-art technology.

Designed by Federico Churba for the prestigious Swedish firm Karl Andersson & Söner, Dizzy is a set of three side tables in different sizes. The pieces comprise a removable round tray manufactured in HI-MACS® Alpine White, supported by a white steel structure. Dizzy conveys an amazing optical illusion that gives it movement and offers different impressions depending on the angle from which it is viewed.

Sitting Bull

Designed by Islé Phippaz for the Swiss brand Kil Codig, the Sitting Bull long chair is a sculptured aerial nest to lie in with extraordinary dimensions and an imposing appearance. It is made from steel which is completely covered by the solid surface HI-MACS®, fully suitable for inside and outside due to its UV light and weather conditioned resistance.

Classic 1960s street lanterns, shaped like mushrooms, are now being put to a new use: They have been turned into stools known as “Statthocker”. When the hard plastic lantern shades were removed to make way for energy saving diode lamps, the product and interior designers Oliver Bahr and Bastian Demmer came up with the idea of repurposing them into stackable stools, because of their perfect seat height. On the upper side of the shades, they added a seat surface made of high gloss HI-MACS®.

Raiffeisen Bank Chur

The Chur branch of the Raiffeisen-Bank is setting a trend: the bank’s gleaming white customer consultation area made using HI-MACS® with its ingenious planting design offers a bright and friendly contrast to the raw appearance of the railway station forecourt.
The corners of the HI-MACS® fittings have been rounded off and the work areas incorporated within them are located on the staff side, so they cannot be seen by customers.

Evolution Bar

Newcastle University

The highly durable and extremely versatile solid surface material HI-MACS® has been used extensively in the high profile refurbishment of the five storey Students Union in a listed building on the 180 year old Newcastle University campus.
The contract was awarded to leading architects FaulknerBrowns Architects who worked closely on the specification and design with Newcastle University project chief and executive of the students union Simon Gerry and the fabricators from MSF.

Showroom Remmelt

Interior designer Remmelt van der Wal recently opened his new Remmelt interior design studio in Amsterdam: a unique location in an impressive monumental building next to the Rijksmuseum.
Remmelt’s style is minimalist, cosmopolitan and industrial. The interior designer worked extremely hard to convert the building into an exclusive design studio. Blend handrinse collection by NotOnlyWhite

Designer Marike Andeweg won the iF 2011 product design award with a bathroom collection made in HI-MACS® for her design label NotOnlyWhite.
The organic-shaped Blend handrinse basin extends fluidly to form the 6cm high splashback, giving it a nostalgic look. The Blend is completely made out of HI-MACS® Alpine White. It is attached to the wall with a virtually invisible stainless steel bracket.
The versatile Blend design basin forms a perfect combination with the Frame cabinet collection.

Horn HI-MACS® for iPod

Horn is the new HI-MACS® hand-made art piece, designed by the Korean architect Shi-hyung Jeon in collaboration with the HI-MACS® team at LG Hausys. The design delivers a full spectrum of sounds while aesthetically it reinterprets the line of the traditional Korean clothes in a contemporary style. After several technical tests with different materials, HI-MACS® was demonstrated to be the optimum choice for the speaker cabinet. Horn is made especially for IPod devices.

Torre de Cristal interior design project

The A-cero studio interior design project was implemented on the top floors of Madrid’s ‘Torre de Cristal’ (Crystal Tower) skyscrapers. The interiors of the 249 metre-high skyscrapers are designed by Joaquin Torres and his partner, Rafael Llamazares using HI-MACS® Natural Acrylic Stone in Alpine White and Black colours. This required the use of 152 sheets of HI-MACS® and a total surface area of 425.11 m2.

The installation “Office Reception” was a perfect combination between smooth thermoformed surfaces and a futuristic view of interior design.
