FROM FANTASY TO FACTORY

Dutch design has mainly become famous for its conceptual, almost artlike status. In that respect the three young designers are very much Dutch. But in the end they strive to make functional objects for a larger audience. “That’s why we decided to work in a similar way as the Haute Couture fashion world functions. Our studio will take the largest amount of artistic freedom to express valuable concepts, fantastic stories in annual ‘fashion shows’. After each show a new collection of products is released which will enter the world of serial production. We are storytellers, from fantasy to factory, from statement to product.”

Lightable Es ist angelichtet. 2001

CucumberLab

Product Philosophy: CucumberLab adj. 1. Recently harvested or made and showing no sign of staleness or decay. 2. A naturally artificial imagined reality, consisting of the inconsistent. CucumberLab is a paradox of ideas, thoughts, and creations, seeking the ageless beauty of the classic in contemporary forms. Our designs strive for a dialog between these contrasts. Continuing to answer the questions, “Why” by creating products that respond “why not” These satellites of interest bring you our freshness guarantee. Wow! That’s Cool. brought to you by: CUCUMBERLAB

Clocks [Hanna Tynkkynen]

"While visiting me in Holland my brother concluded that in his opinion there was no other object on earth as unuseful and stupid as a wooden shoe made of ceramics.

Ever since I was watching them more carefully and started feeling that I somehow wanted to work with them.

Sometime later I was casting clogs in porcelain and using them as puzzle pieces. Playing around I had an idea of adding some more clichés and made the tulip vase of porcelain clogs.Website
